District Energy Specialist

Summary
Assist in the development of NEOM District Energy Strategy, including Cooling, Heating, Chillers and HVAC, emerging and renewable energy technologies. Support in the day-to-day implementation and operation of the District Energy projects in order to supply the most effective and sustainable infrastructure in NEOM
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Manage document control activities for the department
- Assist in developing NEOM Cooling & Heating Strategy for each area assigned, based on the Technical, Environmental, Financial and Social criteria
- Assist for execution of the District Energy Master Plan to include:
- Contract administration: development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work, and principle contract provisions
- RFI responses and addenda. Analyze bids and participate in section of design professional, vendor or contractor, as applicable
- Coordinates and communicates with all stakeholders, internal and external.
- Internal: Water, Energy, Environment, UP, Project, Sustainability, etc.
- External: HVAC Vendors, EPC, major Operators, new technology companies, Start-ups, Universities to bring leading edge technology into the designs of the Plants
- Assist in developing and managing RFP/RFQ and Tendering process as required for Consultancy, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and BOT of the NEOM Cooling and Heating infrastructure
- Prepare a procedures manual that is tailored to the specific project, providing the framework for the overall operations of the project team
- Supervise all change orders to ensure the project proceeds in a planned manner, within budget, and on schedule.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
- Support the project team, putting in place Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans.
- Help to deliver high quality, innovative project solutions that provide real value to NEOM
- Deliver accurate and timely information about the projects progress status towards the plans
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field
- Fresh graduate/1 or 2 years’ experience
- Engineering background
- Strong Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project); experience with various project & construction management software tools.
- Organization, prioritization, and time management skills to monitor and handle multiple projects at the same, balance key priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines
- High thoroughness and reliability and ability to deliver quality output
- Demonstrate ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and resolving team conflict situations.
- Demonstrate ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met.
- Knowledge of Quality & Safety and the importance of risk management
