Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Communication Manager to lead the development and implementation of communications strategies and initiatives for various sectors and regions within NEOM. You will have at least 10+ years’ experience managing communication projects and teams for a large, dynamic and decentralized organization. NEOM has 14 sectors and number of regions, so your background will include communication, media and public relations management experience in a broad range of industries, companies and sectors.

 

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

Planning and Strategy:

 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of NEOM’s communication objectives and goals by providing innovative communications content.
  • Develop, implement and update Communication Department operational plans and oversee their implementation to take part in the realization of the envisioned future of NEOM.
  • Collaborate with relevant NEOM staff members, stakeholders and leaders to identify required projects and initiatives that support the achievement of NEOM’s strategic communications vision.

 

People Management:

 

  • Help instill a culture of development, guidance and performance within the Communication Department.
  • Take responsibility, in collaboration with the Communication Director, for building and maintaining a high-performance team.
  • Participate in setting performance requirements and recruiting for key positions across the Communications Sector.
  • Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate / appraise staff and provide regular feedback on performance.
  • Promote a high-performance working environment embracing NEOM’s values.
  • Develop and implement a program of capacity development for Division staff.

 

Background, Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in developing communication and media relations strategies, as well as managing communication teams/projects.
  • Develop, lead and implement comprehensive sector communication strategies and plans to align with NEOM’s strategic communication goals.
  • Plan and oversee the development of all sector communications activities in consultation with Division Heads, Sector Heads and the Communication Director.
  • Possess the ability to manage and balance multiple communication projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of corporate communication materials
  • Collaborate with communication and marketing colleagues to generate new ideas and strategies
  • Supervise communication projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready
  • Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner
  • Create and deliver presentations to support planning for sector communications initiatives
  • Develop coordinated schedules and plans for sector communication initiatives
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal and external communications mediums
  • Ensure sector communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
  • Storyboard or translate ideas to deliver effective briefs to the internal creative team and external partners.
  • Manage a corporate communications officer and/or team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a communication and/or public relations manager.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is also desirable).
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
