Logistics Solution Design Specialist

Neom Supply Chain & Logistics (SC&L) Division’s role is to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the world’s first fully integrated physical and digital Supply Chain from green field, serving NEOM and the region with intelligent, sustainable, and autonomous solutions

The role of the Logistics Solution Design Specialist is to work alongside the wider SC&L team to develop and deliver the innovative storage and handling solutions that will enable SC&L to fulfill its’ mandate of offering a pioneering and fully sustainable logistics network capable of meeting the very high standards of service and cost efficiency that will be demanded by the multiple customer types..

  • Provide input into the ideation, design, procurement and implementation of all necessary storage and handling assets that may be required across the whole of NEOM
  • Engage with NEOM SC&L stakeholders to identify their requirements for receiving, storing, picking and despatching products across the multiple market categories
  • Engage with wider NEOM sectoral and regional stakeholders to identify their requirements for receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching products across the multiple market categories
  • Engage with potential equipment and service suppliers to identify the assets that might be suitable for NEOM SC&L to deploy to satisfy the receiving, storage, picking and dispatching requirements
  • Engage with the various information systems and technical teams within NEOM to ensure all necessary communication and systems requirements of any deployed assets are accounted for

 

Requirements

Storage and Handling Asset Development

  • Identify the range of different storage and handling assets that will be required to service the requirements of all sectors and regions across NEOM
  • Undertake all necessary research, and where necessary the associated development, to create the designs and specifications that meet the specific needs of NEOM
  • Assist in the development of all necessary business plans to enable the procurement and introduction of the identified assets

Building the team

  • Instrumental in the identification and creation of a larger Storage and Handling asset development team vital in ensuring the most innovative and sustainable storage and handling assets are continually introduced into NEOM
  • Assist in developing a high-performing team through recognising and recruiting the best talent, maximising the skills, flexibility and potential of the professional staff, and minimising employee-initiated turnover through effective management and leadership and onboarding new hires with proper induction programs

Engaging with Customers & NEOM Sectors & Regions

  • Actively drive NEOM SC&L sector and customer engagement plans
  • Actively engage with senior customer representatives through workshops and conferences
  • Consult senior (customer) managers in strategic topics
  • Drive agenda and content development for customer conferences and events
  • Build and grow close relationships with BU senior management and sector experts to ensure consistent sector strategy across NEOM SC&L
  • Build and grow relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders
  • Foster exchange of best practices within and across BU/ sectors, i.e. within SC&L and wider NEOM.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years supply chain solutions design and operational experience across multiple customer sectors, e.g. manufacturing, retail, pharma, and across multiple services, e.g. e-commerce, retail, urban logistics, autonomous deliveries, etc.
  • 5+ years’ experience in capturing and understanding sector & customer requirements through direct engagement and conducting workshops with key stakeholders
  • 5+ years’ experience in detailed storage and handling solution design and costing, using the latest computer aided design and simulation tools, esp. in highly automated and integrated logistics systems
  • Experience of network modelling using the latest software tools would be an advantage
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing supply chain solutions across multiple geographies, regional and global, including cross-border and end to end services.
  • Project management skills, using latest techniques, governance and reporting
  • Knowledge of latest technologies in supply chain management, warehousing and distribution, and developments in functionality of the latest logistics systems applications
  • Customer focused and experienced in building relationships and understanding expectations
  • Highly flexible to changing business requirements
  • Preferred experience with drones and delivery robots (wheeled bots) and other logistics automation
  • Planning & organizing skills
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Ability to report and respond at senior level
  • Experience in product R&D and innovation desirable
  • Fluent English language skills required
  • Hands-on mentality
