Manager, International Manufacturing Investor Attraction - Renewable Energy

Summary

The International Manufacturing Investor Attraction Manager will support the Senior Manager in establishing the Tenant Outreach program with a focus on the Renewable Energy manufacturing cluster. The manager will be responsible for developing the Renewable Energy manufacturing cluster and will be engaging with potential manufacturing tenants across the globe (excluding KSA) to establish their commercial and manufacturing business within NEOM, to be part of the land of the future.

 

Requirements

Support the development of the Manufacturing Investor Attraction function’s strategy, annual plans and estimated budget in alignment with NIC’s Development Projects’ strategy and NIC’s overall strategy and business plans

  • Ensure the implementation of the function’s approved policies, procedures and processes
  • Help review the operating model of the function to optimize operational effectiveness
  • Take a part in preparing regular reports on the function's activities and achievements and suggestions for performance development
  • Help identify, recruit and develop resources to drive the mandate of the Manufacturing Investor Attraction function

 

Manufacturing Investor Attraction Program Development

  • Support the establishment and development of the Manufacturing Investor Attraction program with a focus on the Renewable Energy manufacturing cluster:
  1. Establishing the NIC Manufacturing Investor Attraction program
  2. Developing/implementing key enablers to succeed with the establishment of the cluster
  3. Managing reactive / walk-in’s attraction
  4. Establishing the collaboration between Sectors; primarily the NEOM Energy sector

 

  • Identify target tenants and develop customized value propositions and conduct pitches
  • Conduct deep dive on the specifics of the industry to understand industry dynamics, drivers of localization, market opportunities in NEOM and GCC
  • Collaborate with leaders of Investor Attraction of other sectors / industries  
  • Attend international conferences and build relationships across international networks and business communities to identify, engage with and attract potential tenants

 

Running the Investor Attraction as a Continual Process

  • Ensure complete partner focus and quality of interactions, representing NEOM in the best way
  • Support initial discussions through to the next step of structured negotiations
  • Continuously improve the value proposition and pitch abilities to align with the needs of tenants and NEOM

 

Structured Negotiations and Legally Binding Agreements

  • Map out the business opportunities and competitive advantage for tenants in the Renewable Energy industry, with a focus on the prioritized manufacturing sub-clusters: Solar PV, Onshore Wind, Battery Storage and Green Hydrogen
  • Run negotiations, as necessary, with a view to anchoring LoI’s, MoU’s or draft contractual agreements
  • Lead the development of full business proposals facilitating the process for both parties
  • Support tenants in the development of both legal and non-legal details
  • Ensure the transition the MoU’s / LoI’s to legally binding agreements and contracts

 

Handover to Tenant Services and/or Industrialization

  • In the final stages of the partner attraction process, ensure a good handover to the One Stop Shop/ Tenant Services team and, where appropriate, NIC Advanced Manufacturing & innovation team to support the plant build and operationalization

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/ preferably a master’s from an accredited university in Business or Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or related disciplines
  • Master’s in Business Administration is an added advantage
  • Extensive proven experience in business development and sales management within the Energy industry
  • Passionate about Renewable Energy and with a solid understanding of the associated value chains and industry players
  • Strong negotiation capabilities and experience from managing external relationships and complex deals/projects
  • Strong team building and team management capabilities
  • Good interpersonal skills and Senior Management Experience from Industry to enable engagement with Senior Executives with a view to developing business opportunities through to MoU’s and legally binding agreements in conjunction with the Executive Management
  • Good business acumen, financial & economic analysis/development, abstract problem solving and logical reasoning. Preferred experience from strategic or business consulting at the engagement manager level.
  • Strong presentation skills, presentation preparation and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
