Manager, Sustainable Supply Chain

Summary

The Sustainable Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) will support the Environmental Department to continually improve the environmental, social and economic impacts in supply chains, and the encouragement of good governance practices, throughout the lifecycles of goods and services. The SSCM will also create a SSCM framework and related guides, procedures and interact with key stakeholders in the support of the integration of the Environment strategy.

 

Requirements 

  • Establish the Environment Departments Procurement and Contract management systems.
  • Responsible for developing innovative SSCM solutions that provides real value to the organization.
  • The role will include the following tasks:
  • Establish Sustainability Expectations for the SSCM.
  • Develop a Business Case and Framework for SSCM.
  • Implement a Sustainable Supply Chain Policy.
  • Implement a Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Implement Sustainable Procurement.
  • Implement SSCM training.
  • Engage with Suppliers.
  • Implement 3rd Party supplier sustainability assessment.
  • Build Supplier Capability.
  • Implement Supply Chain Partnering.
  • Implement SSCM tools
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on recommended materials for sustainable construction.
  • Implement a sustainable Merchandising policy.
  • Implement sustainable assessment models.
  • Implement a sustainable materials award.
  • Undertake SSCM research (as required), supported by SSCM specialists.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on leading practice on procurement and contracts management.
  • Define and manage key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in environmental, social and economic inputs, including technical input to negotiations on strategically significant contracts and negotiation and management of third party service providers.
  • Liaison with the Financial and Legal departments to align with global standards and regulations.
  • Provide support to cross-functional Projects and Programs related to the Department.
  • Play a part in the strategic environmental planning and direction while working closely with counterparts across the organization.

 

Qualifications

  • BA or MSc in Procurement Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Ideally MCIPS or FCIPS qualified, with a passion for sustainability and making a difference
  • Proven leader with demonstrable experience of achieving goals and key business objectives
  • Experience in SSCM of materials, equipment, and services - especially for large construction projects and operations.
  • Skilled in Procurement & Contract Management.
  • Skilled in Project and Program management.
  • Ability to work in complex organizations and collaborate across a matrix organization.
  • Skilled in training and developing teams.
  • Experience in sustainability tools e.g. LCA
  • Experience in developing local content.
  • Experienced in building trust and long-term business relationships internally and externally for mutual benefit.
  • Skilled in influencing, mentoring and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge in applying commercial concepts.
  • At least 20 years work experience including Middle East.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools
  • Knowledge of Quality & Safety and the importance of risk management.
  • Experience working on remote base camps
