Manager - Hydraulic Modelling

The Manager of Hydraulic Modelling is a senior and critical role within the NEOM WATER team, responsible for overseeing the generation and development of the systems which are to be the central resource for the planning, design, optimization, modelling, systems control and automation of both the Water Transmission and Distribution systems achieving the efficient and safe supply of water to the NEOM region as well as the Drainage collection systems for sewage and wastewater.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain the NEOM Water utility company Hydraulic Model.
  • Provide point of contact for external stakeholders engaged in development of water and wastewater requirements and model.
  • Utilize the development of the Hydraulic model to implement Smart network solutions and enable the generation of a digital twin of the hydraulic systems.
  • Provide integration of the model with real time data and field assessment to develop the operational strategy for the utility operations.
  • Expert user of hydraulic analysis software and development of design solutions for a rapidly expanding city.
  • Able to relate to practical experience in the implementation of hydraulic packages to the delivery of water transmission and distribution systems.
  • Experience and understanding of working practices and cultural norms within the Middle East utility sector and ability to communicate and challenge unacceptable performance in an effective manner.
  • Ability to generate reports and compile data to form accurate and accountable records of performance standards.
  • Forward thinking and willing to challenge typically accepted norms in order to achieve new working methods and practices.

Education & Experience


  • Mechanical engineering Degree or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Mechanical / Hydraulic / Process control engineer with strong and proven expertise in development of hydraulic transmission and distribution systems.
  • Experience in a dynamic complex commercial organization, engaged in multiple simultaneous projects
  • Understanding of project management frameworks and experience developing planning, monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Ability to provide detailed technical assessments, recommendations and influence people at all levels
  • Innovative approach, eager to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to focus on short and long term strategic objectives
