Market Analytics Specialist

Summary
Support in the development and implementation of capacity expansion model and develop energy value chain cost calculation model to help NEOM achieve 100% renewable energy
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Ensure the alignment of the modelling activities with interdependent energy activities such as market & grid design, as well as with other sectors to ensure capacity planning is in line with their strategies and implementation plans
- Support in projects along the energy value chain, and specifically in areas such as energy supply & trading, energy market modeling and deal structuring
- Assist in the economic analysis of erecting energy systems with renewable generation, grid integration, and customer profiling
- Assist in the technical and economic analysis of erecting renewable generation, integration to the grid, and systems analysis
- Actively shaping and contributing to executive management discussions and decisions, including preparation of bespoke analysis, documentation, and presentations
- Assist in incorporating various analytical methodologies in forecasting and modelling energy systems
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships related to the energy market and actors along the value chain relevant for the system design and market modelling
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders on significant technical matters and in coordination and communication between organizations
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in market modelling and design
- Relevant experience with optimization, simulation, risk modeling and energy modeling tools (Plexos)
- Experience in Data management languages (SQL, Oracle) is preferrable
- Experience in Programming language (R, Python, or VBA) is preferrable
- Knowledge of advanced energy technologies and energy market/system dynamics
- Advanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong presentation skills, presentation preparation and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
