Role Purpose:
Develop novel typologies of place making for transit-oriented development and mobility at height in order to drive the establishment of new vertical communities for the Line and embed findings in policy development
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
- Develop and evaluate urban transit interface typologies and place making performances of the Line for vertical communities
- Specify urban interface design guidelines for mobility hub typologies and assess submissions by UP and its consultants (architects, masterplanners, mobility and transport consultants)
- Help specify and develop KPIs for Place Making and user experience metrics such as levels of service, F/L mile facilities and activation, approach safety, way-finding, comfort etc, for new vertical TOCs/ Place making around mobility hubs
- Communicate KPIs & metrics for Place Making and user experience to UP & consultants through briefs and scopes
- Support research into TOC place-based benchmarks and metrics with Manager for Impact Assessment and Predictive Analytics within LM Line Mobility Planning team
- Conduct urban and community impact assessment and forecasting with LM Line Mobility Planning, TOC Manager
- Support the team to manage consultant for Movement-Place-User model (MPU) development
Background, Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience on professional projects with focus on urban analytics, network analysis and user-centric movement evaluation with some focus on transit-oriented or transport planning
- Ideally some experience with micro-mobility planning at neighbourhood scale
- Strong place making and masterplanning knowledge
- No coding experience required but sound knowledge about project application and spatial analytics theories, as well as experience with GIS/CAD/ BIM
- independently communicate with stakeholders and suppliers
Qualifications:
- combination of degrees in a built environment subject (architecture, urban design, urban planning) and an evidence-based subject in relation to the built environment (computational design, urban analytics, spatial analytics, mobility modelling etc)
- academic research engagement in field also desirable such as part-time university teaching
- fluency in English
