Project Lead - Water

Summary

 

The Project Lead for Water R&D and Innovation is responsible for project management assignments include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.

The role will oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines and monitor and summarize progress of projects, as well as prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects which is a critical support function necessary for the continued success of the NEOM Water Sector.

 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • The successful candidate will work directly with R&D and Innovation Manager to support managing proposals.
  • The candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and lead and direct the work of other team members.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Enhance Water sector and NEOM reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects
  • Manage projects in the delivery cycle (on-time, within scope and within budget)
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Develop a set of best practices for the Business Development team, including comprehensive planning, investor relationship, quality measurement, and Sector scorecards
  • Liaison with other Education and Energy Sectors BD and Innovation representatives (report back on activities, look for synergies, etc)
  • Prepare an Innovation Library to track all Water cutting-edge technologies for R&D and Innovation

 

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • PMP certified
  • MBA seen as favourable
  • Experience of 5+ years in the Water project management field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in project management, including key account management
  • Experience in a dynamic complex commercial organization, managing multiple stakeholders and projects
  • Experience developing and executing measurable strategies and plans
  • Ability to negotiate with potential business partners
  • Innovative approach, eager to challenge the status quo
